Practical machining dimensions for 55° tapered pipe threads

In sealing mechanisms, 55° tapered pipe threads, with their unique sealing effect, are widely used. However, in machining, the parameters listed in various manuals are invariably given in terms of the base surface as the standard size. This abstract dimension is difficult to measure and control in practice, resulting in threads that vary from person to person and reducing interchangeability. They are either loose or tight in assembly, which not only makes installation difficult, but also seriously affects sealing performance.

Now, by replacing the complex base surface dimensions with precise, customarily used end dimensions through conversion, it is not only easier to process, but the thread accuracy is significantly improved.

After the improvement, through visits to dozens of users of our factory in the country, generally reflect: basically meet the interchangeability requirements, no filler seal effect is very good
